| can we do a fundraiser for thirty hour famine together as a youth group? maybe a bake sale or car wash? i think it would be a good way to bond, have fun, and see our work go towards a good cause. i know its kind of late for this year (although it would be awesome to see it happen!), but at least maybe for next year?
what do you guys think? | |

| hmmm i'm wondering if we could do both a garage sale & a bake sale at the car wash. it might be a little late to ask people to start bringing things, but i think we can try to organize something in the next few days. just make sure there aren't any people sneaking any cookies for themselves. | |

| i'm down for that. i could help bake if i'm not dead. and don't worry about me eating anything haha i don't even like sweets, so i'm not tempted if you have cookies and whatnot. if we had a steak sale, on the hand, you should not trust me. | |

| i'll bake! is the whole car wash thing organized? like is there a system of where cars will go and park once they arrive? are there stations and such where cars are getting washed while there are lines where cars can wait? and are there going to be different teams, one to soap, one to dry, and certain people operating hoses so the hoses don't get thrown/passed/dropped and possibly damage any of the cars? are we going to have something to possibly entertain the drivers while their cars are being washed or while they're waiting or do we expect them to either stay in the car or stand by and watch their car get washed? just askin' since if we expect a lot of people, we might get a car rush on the day of and it'd be bad if it was chaos since we risk damaging someone's car or an accident occurring.. | |

| good thinking calvin. i'm working on coming up with a complex system of operations that will streamline the process of the car detailing. in other words, i'm thinking of a plan that will probably fall through and turn into mass chaos. =) | |

| hahaha well, if you are coming up with a plan, im just reminding you to make sure that the washing spots are close to hoses.. (so we can grow roses, and smell them with our noses, then we can take pictures with weird poses, and while playing with our toe-ses we can talk about moses!) | |

| i think that we just need cars to go in one way and go out the other way! and we should have an admin team(organizers), soap, rinse, and dry teams. well thats how douloi did it on a much smaller scale for pastors appreciation...
i dont think i can bake for the bake sale because i would totally break my fast. cookies are TOO TEMPTING. man, especially if calvin bakes... i need to steer clear ^-^'

| haha well, they're having free refreshments for the tax thing, so i don't think people will pay for them when they're also being given out for free.
are people staying in their cars while we're washing them?

| i'm setting up a process that will hopefully be the quickest way to wash each car...it's pretty much the same idea that you have kristen, but a lot more and unnecessarily complicated. =) we still need ALL the supplies, so if any of you could bring them (and encourage others too) that would be awesome.
about the bake sale...we've kinda set all the gears going on that, so i don't know if we can really pull it back now. darn...i should have asked about the tax stuff before starting the bake sale stuff. =T

| okay..i dunno if this will help you guys but um the CHS girls soccer team had a car wash fundrasier before and like we split up in in several small groups and worked together "has a team" and and has groups washed the cars...we organized the cars so that they would be parked on one side of the parking lot and have a clear passage way for finished cars to leave in a orederly fashoin...ummmwell we had lots of buckets...windex...this cool towels that didn't seem to get soaked and uummm SOAP =D
for the people that are staying there while their cars are being washed..i dunno if its too crazy of an idea and if it'll burn too much energy..but maybe we could set up like a band =DDDD and then like some people can be like singing (lighter songs) or if theres alot of people that don't know what World vision is about and what 30 Hour Famine is we could like have certain people come up to the stage to talk about what the Famine means to them and stuff..=D *what can i say its crazy*
*WOWOW that was alot of typing!!!

| wow great thinking =DD umm when you mean "breaking into teams", do you mean like each team take care of a car, or each group take care of a job(like an assembly line from WWI =D) ?? my idea of doing it is, to ask ppl to park their car in a line, and there will be teams, that take care of one job. so like, one group will water, another will soap it, and etc. so the teams will just be moving down the line of cars, and doing the same job. does that sound like a plan? | |
